Rosie is a Geraldton-based singer and songwriter. Her music is a blend of her diverse influences, from her classical training and the musical tradition of the Batak, her father’s tribe, to her upbringing on 90s pop and old-timey country music.

Blending an intimate knowledge of harmonies and layering, Rosie’s music is a reflection of her experiences of life, loss, love and community. Her writing is rooted in poetry and spoken word performance, with strong underpinnings of protest, advocacy and truth-telling. In short, it’s all things but kind of none!

Since returning to songwriting in 2015 after the death of her mother, Rosie’s music has become a vehicle for collaboration and social change. Her other musical project, Warralgurniya, is an award-winning collaboration with Thiinma Elder Peter Salmon to write songs in his mother tongues of Thiinma and Warriyangga.
