The Batavia Coast Maritime Institute is a state-of-the-art training, research and development facility located at Separation Point in Geraldton that engages in aquaculture and marine conservation. Australia’s largest marine ornamental fish hatchery is where it all begins for the fish, and it is here that you will see “Nemo” and his friends as they begin the journey from eggs all the way to adults. The aquaculture of these colourful coral reef fish helps to reduce the overexploitation of coral reefs, thus protecting vulnerable species and habitats.
